Patient Access Support Specialist


The Patient Access Support Specialist serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while supporting daily clinic operations. This role is responsible for answering patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, verifying patient information & ensuring accurate documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality & HIPPA compliance.

Patient Access Support Specialist Details:

  • Temp-to-Hire position
  • $18.25 /hour
  • Full Time work available
  • First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)
  • Answering incoming patient calls & assist with scheduling, registration & general inquiries. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients both in person and over the phone.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and update electronic medical records as needed.
  • Educate patients regarding appointment requirements, financial responsibilities, payment options, and available clinic services..
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Patient Access Support Specialist Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in healthcare, medical reception, patient access, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, electronic medical records (EMR), and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered service.
