Assistant Controller Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 /annually
  • First Shift
  • Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for the monthly accounting closing process; preparation or review of all journal entries and related analysis.
  • Review and preparation of daily, weekly and the monthly reports, including labor, costing, etc.
  • Develop, maintain, document and improve the plant’s costing, including variance reporting.
  • Prepare forecasts, and budgets including capital projects.
  • Plan and summarize the annual physical inventory.
  • Interface with auditors (internal and external).
  • Directly responsible for maintaining the General Ledger, maintaining product costs, updating standard costs and maintaining the fixed asset system.
  • Prepares various financial statements and records journal entries at period end.
  • Assists the Controller in preparing the AOP.
  • Performs other duties such as sales and use tax reporting, property tax filings, diesel fuel filings, business license reporting, government statistical reporting, etc.
  • Assist in Fixed Asset control.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Assistant Controller Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or commensurate training and experience. CPA and/or MBA preferred. 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to operate all information technology related business systems, programs and applications in a manner that achieves efficiency, accuracy, and relevancy of information processing and reporting.
  • Ability to perform calculations relating to operational, accounting, and financial analysis and apply concepts of dairy mathematics and statistics.
