Assistant to the Clerk / Deputy Clerk Details:
Direct Hire position- $
45,000.00 / annually Full Time work availableFirst Shift ( Monday throughThursday from 07:00am to05:00pm )
- Monday thru Thursday 7:00am to 5:00pm
- Assist with planning and administering federal, state, county, township, and school elections.
- Assist with the general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and assist with yearly budgets.
- Communicate with funeral directors to arrange for the opening and closing of graves. Mark grave, sell plots and assist with headstone foundations.
- Assist with maintaining and managing township records and public documents.
- Serve as a purchasing manager for the township and as a back-up for accounts receivable.
- Provide excellent customer service to the township residents at the township service window.
- Apply for and obtain certification as a Notary Public.
Assistant to the Clerk / Deputy Clerk Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business is preferred but not a requirement.
- Must have five or more years of accounting/financial experience.
- Must have experience with bookkeeping and general ledgers.
- Three or more years of administrative or executive experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Etc.
- Ability to multitask and work with interruptions throughout the day.
- Ability to create a friendly work environment and maintain a good working relationship with elected officials.
Preferred
- Basic knowledge of Michigan election processes is a plus.
- Experience with the BS&A software systems.
- Experience working in a municipality.
