Quality Technician (Gage Lab) Details:

  • Temp-to-Hire position
  • $25.62 /hour
  • Full Time work available
  • Second Shift (Monday through Friday from 02:30pm to 10:30pm)
  • Responsible for checking, adjusting, calibrating, certification and repair of precision measuring instruments.
  • Laps, adjusts and repairs gages to restore accuracy.
  • Close involvement with the certification of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Super Micrometers, surface plates and allied equipment.
  • Makes repairs and/or arranges for the repairs with outside suppliers.
  • Closely involved with the ISO9001 process and the Corporate Gage System to maintain accurate records.

Quality Technician (Gage Lab) Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with gage checking, repair and certification.
  • CNC machining background, ability to interpret part features to gage readings and gage readings to gage features.
  • Knowledge and use of surface plate layout and the ability to perform trigonometric calculations to determine dimensions that are not called out on the print.
  • Certification requires precision measurement in Metric and English standards.
  • Repair and troubleshooting require mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Above average keyboard skills and knowledge of Caterpillar computer systems (GageIt, and other PC software).
  • Ability to work in a team environment, receptive to change and have good organizational skills.
  • Applicant may be subject to a background check
