Material Handler
Seeking a reliable 1st shift Material Handler for a manufacturing facility in Jackson. Responsibilities include receiving and handling steel, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, supporting shipping, and maintaining a safe, organized facility.

Material Handler Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
17.00 to $ 18.00 / hour Full Time work availableFirst Shift ( Monday throughFriday )
- 1st shift Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm & Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
- Receive steel shipments from inbound trucks.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks safely.
- Receive and transport 12-foot steel bars to stock locations and machines per job requirements using an overhead crane.
- Properly stock materials at inventory locations and machines using inventory tags.
- Label steel materials with accurate inventory tags.
- Operate Inter-Source chip spinning machine to process metal chip shavings. • Wash parts as required.
- Assist shipping department as needed.
- Perform general building maintenance tasks.
- Empty trash throughout the factory and maintain dumpster area cleanliness.
- Perform janitorial duties as assigned, including use of floor scrubber, mops, and brooms.
- Perform seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, salting sidewalks, and maintaining dock areas.
Material Handler Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes
- Strong math skills, including use of measuring devices (tape measure and calipers)
- Ability to read and recognize fractions and decimals when sizing steel bars
- Building maintenance skills preferred.
- Must be able to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
