CMM Operator Details:
Direct Hire position- $
21.00 to $ 27.91 / hour Full Time work available- Weekend work required
Third Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 10:00pm to06:00am )
A CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator inspects precision-manufactured parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications, utilizing specialized software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and probes. They work in manufacturing environments, performing first-article inspections and documenting findings. Common skills include reading blueprints, CAD familiarity, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
CMM Operator Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as a CMM programmer in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Quality from a college/university or technical school. B.S preferred.
- Must have outstanding analytical skills.
- Must be proficient in written and verbal communication.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in various problem-solving methods, including: 8D, 5-WHY, 5P, etc.
- Proven ability to use various precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gage, gage blocks gage pins, etc.
- Proficient in writing, editing and running CMM programs for complex parts and components.
- Must be able to program from electronic drawing files or "reverse engineer" a program from a part alone.
- Proficient in the ability to measure parts on a fixed gage or in the free-state
- Proficient in reading mechanical drawings
- Thorough and in-depth working knowledge and hands-on experience with GD&T.
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
