Certified Flagger Details:

  • Temp-to-Hire position
  • $21.00 /hour
  • Full Time work available
  • Weekend work required
  • First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 06:00pm)
  • A Certified Flagger at Wasatch Flagging is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow through construction and work zones. This position supports road crews and protects motorists, pedestrians, and workers by directing traffic and setting up traffic control devices.
  • Key Responsibilities Direct traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and radios Set up and remove cones, signs, barricades, and other traffic control equipment Follow approved traffic control plans and safety regulations
  • Communicate with crew members and other flaggers to coordinate traffic movement Monitor job sites for hazards and ensure worker and public safety
  • Assist with general labor tasks when needed Work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain alert at all times
  • Certified flaggers typically set up traffic zones and guide vehicles safely through construction areas, while ensuring all safety rules and procedures are followed.
  • Requirements Current flagger certification/card Ability to stand for long periods and work outside Strong attention to safety and situational awareness Good communication skills
  • Reliable transportation (often required) Ability to lift and carry traffic control equipment Work Environment Road construction zones Highway or city street projects Outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) Variable shifts, sometimes early mornings or overtime
  • Certified flaggers are essential because they guide traffic safely around work zones and help prevent accidents while protecting crews and the public.

Certified Flagger Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Flagger Certification 
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
