Controls Engineer


The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems that automate and optimize industrial processes.

Controls Engineer Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $70,000.00 to $105,000.00 /annually
  • First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)
  • Design and develop control systems and automation strategies for manufacturing or industrial equipment
  • Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and SCADA systems
  • Conduct system integration, testing, and validation to ensure performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in control systems and related hardware/software
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to meet project goals
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
  • Provide training and support to maintenance and operations teams
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems

Controls Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in controls engineering or automation
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text), HMI design, and SCADA configuration
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Strong understanding of control theory, system dynamics, and instrumentation
  • Experience with CAD software and electrical schematics
  • Experience with robotics, motion control, or vision systems
  • Knowledge of Python, C++, or MATLAB for control algorithm development
  • Familiarity with DCS systems and industrial networking
  • Certifications such as CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician) or PE (Professional Engineer)
