Radio Communication Technician
The technician will support Tier 1 (Tech 1) technicians during rail service calls involving communications and vehicle electronics systems for UTA’s TRAX and FrontRunner vehicles, including coaches, trains, and support vehicles. This role also supports project preparation and asset management activities.

Radio Communication Technician Details:
Temporary position- $
25.00 / hour Full Time work availableFirst Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 07:00am to03:30pm )
Key Responsibilities • Assist Tier 1 technicians with troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of vehicle communications and electronics systems • Install onboard camera systems on TRAX and FrontRunner vehicles • Install mobile radio systems on TRAX and FrontRunner vehicles • Support equipment kitting and preparation for upcoming projects • Assist with the collection, sorting, and documentation of assets designated for disposal • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs
Radio Communication Technician Qualifications:
Required Knowledge Basic understanding of the following systems and concepts: • Low-voltage power systems and troubleshooting techniques • Communications fundamentals • Android tablets, two-way radios, Mobile Data Computers (MDCs), GPS, and Public Address systems • Mobile radio systems and onboard camera systems • Antennas, speakers, handsets, cameras, and associated low-voltage cabling • Proficient in the use of a Digital Multimeter (DMM) • Ability to safely and effectively use basic hand and diagnostic tools
