General Counsel - 3-6 month Contract Details:
Contract position- $
65.00 / annually First Shift
- Advise internal business units and leadership on commercial, corporate, regulatory, and strategic legal matters across the organization. -
- Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of commercial agreements, contracts, pleadings, and legal correspondence.
- Provide practical, risk-based legal guidance for dispute resolution, claims, and litigation matters.
- Lead and manage outside legal counsel, ensuring high-quality representation, cost efficiency, and alignment with company objectives.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive law, compliance, and risk-mitigation programs to reduce legal exposure.
- Support procurement, customer business units, and strategic initiatives with a strong emphasis on commercial contracting.
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and legal trends impacting the automotive and manufacturing industries.
- Support corporate governance, entity management, and board-related legal matters.
- Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, real estate, and other strategic transactions as needed.
- Develop legal templates, self-help tools, policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Drive innovation in legal operations, including evaluating and supporting GenAI solutions for repetitive, low-risk legal work.
General Counsel - 3-6 month Contract Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of commercial and corporate law experience in a law firm and/or multinational organization.
- Licensed and admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts, corporate law, and dispute resolution; M&A and real estate experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage external counsel and control legal spend.
- Experience working in or supporting regulated, global, or manufacturing environments preferred.
