Refrigeration Technician Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
20.00 to $ 30.00 / hour Full Time work availableFirst Shift
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, chillers, and ammonia-based systems.
- Monitor and maintain proper temperatures in all coolers, freezers, and processing rooms.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance logs.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM (Process Safety Management), and company safety standards.
- Assist with installation and startup of new refrigeration equipment or modifications to existing systems.
- Respond to emergency refrigeration issues and participate in on-call rotations when required.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and safety departments to support facility operations
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any hazards or irregularities.
Refrigeration Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in industrial refrigeration, preferably in food processing or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems strongly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to work in cold environments, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
