Renew Onsite Reconditioning Coordinator
Based onsite 5 days/week in Fontana, CA, the Reconditioning Coordinator oversees daily operations at the auction reconditioning facility. Occasional travel to Torrance, CA may be required (1-2 times per month).
This role begins as a 3-month contract with the potential to extend in 3-month increments based on performance and department needs.
The Coordinator serves as the key liaison between technicians, body shops, vendors, facility management, and Honda’s home office. Responsibilities include ensuring vehicles are inspected, repaired, and prepared for sale on time, within budget, and to OEM/CPO standards. Success requires automotive service or reconditioning experience, strong project management skills, and clear communication with both technical and corporate teams.

Renew Onsite Reconditioning Coordinator Details:
Contract to Hire position- $
27.00 to $ 29.00 / hour First Shift
Project Management – 50%
- Track vehicle progress and ensure cycle times meet targets
- Coordinate workflow with technicians, body shops, and suppliers
- Resolve delays or process bottlenecks
- Schedule inspections to verify OEM/CPO standards
- Communicate inspection results prior to auction release
Documentation – 15%
- Track reconditioning cost per unit vs. program targets
- Document mechanical/cosmetic issues and escalate as needed
- Maintain accurate reporting on volume, turnaround, delays, and costs
- Provide operational updates to the home office
Communication – 35%
- Act as onsite liaison between the facility, vendors, and Honda teams
- Maintain consistent communication with technicians and management
- Share changes in project direction based on new information
- Flag recurring issues impacting overall program performance
Renew Onsite Reconditioning Coordinator Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in automotive service, reconditioning, or dealership service operations
- Strong understanding of mechanical repair, cosmetic repair, and vehicle inspection processes
- Proven project management experience coordinating multiple vehicles and workflows
- Excellent communication skills for working between technical teams and corporate environments
- Ability to problem-solve, escalate issues appropriately, and maintain urgency in a fast-moving operational setting
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with internal and external partners
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on operational role
