Heavy Equipment Operator - Yard Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
18.00 / hour Full Time work availableFirst Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 07:00am to03:00pm )
- Communicate daily with internal teams and drivers; coordinate lumber usage with the accounting department.
- Safely load and unload flatbed trailers while following all SOPs and maintaining personnel and equipment safety.
- Lead weekly safety talks and complete daily pre-shift inspections.
- Ensure availability of dry lumber in correct species, dimensions, and quantities.
- Manually pull boards for rough mill or custom orders while minimizing waste.
- Keep lumber organized by species, length, and thickness.
- Perform lumber audits using visual inspections and moisture content meters; quarantine loads when needed.
Heavy Equipment Operator - Yard Qualifications:
- 2-5 years operating heavy equipment with a positive safety record.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills and Good math skills.
- Ability to read and follow both written and verbal communication.
- Good communication skills.
- Regularly lift and move boards weighing, on average 50-75 lbs; occasionally higher weights are involved
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
- Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
