Semi-Trailer Machanic Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
17.00 / hour Full Time work available- Weekend work required
First Shift ( Monday throughSaturday from 06:30am to05:00pm )
- Inspection and diagnostics: Perform thorough inspections to diagnose issues with all trailer systems, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, and chassis components.
- Repair and replacement: Fix or replace worn or broken parts, such as bearings, brakes, axles, springs, doors, and flooring.
- Preventative maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotation, to ensure trailers are roadworthy and meet DOT standards.
- System repairs: Service and repair a variety of systems, including electrical wiring, air brake systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Welding and fabrication: May involve fabricating and welding new parts or custom interiors.
Semi-Trailer Machanic Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of semi-trailer systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems.
- Problem-solving: Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions under pressure.
- Physical fitness: Capable of lifting heavy objects, climbing, stooping, and standing for long periods.
- Tool proficiency: Experience with mechanic and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver's license: Necessary for test-driving vehicles.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
