Paint Department Manager Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $75,000.00 /annually
  • First Shift
  • This is an exciting opportunity to build a new department from the ground up within an established, reputable company. The ideal candidate will bring experience in both liquid paint and powder coating processes, combined with strong leadership and organizational skills to develop systems, train staff, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Lead the setup, planning, and implementation of our new liquid paint and powder coating operations.
  • Oversee all daily coating activities, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both liquid and powder coating processes.
  • Train and mentor team members in coating techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Select and help install new equipment, materials, and technologies for both coating lines.
  • Monitor coating performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage coating schedules, materials inventory, and quality documentation.
  • Assist in budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning for the coatings department.
  • Monitor coating performance and quality standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Paint Department Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in both liquid paint and powder coating operations (industrial or manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Proven experience in process setup, team leadership, and production management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation, coating application, curing processes, and quality control standards.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting related to coating systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience starting or leading new production lines a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of safety, EPA, and OSHA compliance requirements related to coating operations.
