Controls Engineer Details:
Direct Hire position- $
75,000.00 to $ 110,000.00 / annually First Shift
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC electrical/control issues (boards, drives, HMIs, relays, etc.).
- Write, modify, and optimize PLC ladder logic (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
- Program and support robotics systems (Fanuc, Kawasaki, Yaskawa).
- Configure and troubleshoot HMIs, VFDs, and I/O networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Integrate automation into machining cells and support new equipment installations.
- Act as a bridge between maintenance and engineering teams.
- Support continuous improvement and automation expansion initiatives.
Controls Engineer Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Technology.
- Experience with CNC retrofits and automation integration.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for live electrical work.
- 5–10 years in a machining or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
- Experience with CNC machine tool controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mori Seiki, Murata).
- Robotics programming and troubleshooting (Fanuc TP, Kawasaki AS/Block Step).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Comfortable with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and basic VB.NET/VBA/C++.
