Electrical Inspector (construction / building)
Electrical Inspector at City entity to work in Engineering and Operations department on residential, commercial and industrial construction projects. Perform technical electrical and building inspection work to enforce electrical/building codes. Direct hire, $70K - $91K DOE + benefits.

Electrical Inspector (construction / building) Details:
Direct Hire position- $
70,000.00 to $ 91,000.00 / annually First Shift ( Monday throughFriday )
- Review plans and applications for field inspection; inspect industrial, commercial and residential electrical installations and related buildings and equipment during various stages of construction and remodeling to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances and regulations including National Electric Code, Building Code, Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, City ordinances, and other City departments' requirements; check plans for special conditions or requirements an existing Building Code.
- Receive complaints of electrical, building, plumbing, and mechanical code and ordinance violations; investigate.
- Identify code violations; obtain and prepare evidence; issue notices to comply on violations; follow-up on correction notices to ensure required corrections have been performed; maintain records of history of facts for possible legal actions.
- Coordinate inspection activities with other City departments and divisions as required; ensure all departments' requirements are met before issuing certificate of occupancy.
- Approve the issuance of building permits; compute permit fees; issue building permits.
- Confer with architects, contractors, builders and the general public in the field and office; explain and interpret requirements and restrictions.
- Provide staff assistance to the Chief Building Inspector; prepare staff reports.
- Prepare, update, and enforce the city fire codes, ordinances, and standards; develop and implement a comprehensive code enforcement program as it pertains to permitted work.
- Maintain accurate and complete files, report, schedules, recommendations and other administrative records.
Electrical Inspector (construction / building) Qualifications:
- Five years of increasingly responsible inspection experience.
- Completion of full electrical apprenticeship.
- Understand, interpret and apply materials, principles, plans, practices and techniques used in the design, construction, installation, and maintenance of a variety of electrical installations and equipment as it pertains to electrical code and inspections.
- Understand and apply major types of building construction materials and methods.
- Understand, interpret and apply building related codes and ordinances enforced by the City.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Possession of a Journeyman or Master Electrician License issued by the State of Wyoming (Master Preferred).
- International Code Council (ICC) Commercial Electrical Inspector cert. required after start
