Yard Hostler Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
20.00 / hour Full Time work available- Weekend work required
Second Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 03:00pm to11:00pm )
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Load/unload freight using hand truck, pallet jack, or forklift; verify cargo condition and documentation.
- Sort, label, and store freight properly by account or location.
- Shuttle trailers within yard/dock areas; transport freight to assigned locations.
- Secure lifting attachments, stack/assemble freight into bundles, and band on pallets.
- Perform pre- and post-load trailer inspections; document equipment condition.
- Verify and report damages; conduct daily yard checks.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and trailers.
Yard Hostler Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift experience required; yard hostler/shunting experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Must be dependable with good attendance record.
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
