Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

A medical eye clinic is seeking to employ an Optometrist Assistant to join their team. The office manager will lead, motivate and manage the office and oversee daily operations.

Optometrist Assistant Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$10.00 to $17.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00pm to 05:00pm)

Assisting with patient check-in and front desk duties
Providing optical support, including frame selection and adjustments
Supporting the optometrist with technician responsibilities and pre-testing
Managing and overseeing daily office operations
Leading, motivating, and supervising staff to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient care

Optometrist Assistant Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in an eye clinic, optical setting, or medical office preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Leadership and team management experience a plus

Applicant may be subject to a background check
Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
