Lumber Yard Manager Details:
Direct Hire position- $
80,000.00 to $ 100,000.00 / annually First Shift
- Provide clear and effective communication with employees, management, and customers.
- Partner with the Operations Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels in the yard.
- Collaborate with the sales team to resolve order issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Schedule and coordinate daily production and deliveries to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor and track inventory status, supply usage, costs, and trends to maintain established levels.
- Submit stock inventory requests to the Inventory Manager as needed.
- Oversee employee relations in coordination with Human Resources, including performance management, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Serve as the designated Safety Leader for the yard, conducting compliance training and ensuring adherence to all safety policies
- Maintain safe and organized yard operations, ensuring equipment and facilities meet company safety standards.
- Demonstrate initiative by taking on additional responsibilities and challenges as required.
- Minimal travel may be required.
Lumber Yard Manager Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse, yard, or building materials environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, FMCSA).
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
- Proficiency in inventory tracking and reporting systems a plus.
