Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Now Hiring Material Handlers for Forklift Operators. Elwood Staffing is partnering Portland Regional Distribution Center. We are looking for positive attitude and the ability to work in a team to achieve goals and objectives.

Material Handler Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$20.75 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)

Load/unload/move materials within the warehouse using a Forklift
Quality inspection of all incoming materials
Loading or unloading materials by hand and/or use of forklift
Label and palletize product to prepare for shipment.
Use of shrink wrap machine or shrink wrapping by hand may be required.
Unloading, scrapping and/or re-boxing all returned items
Maintaining a neat and clean work area in accordance with our safety procedures
Regular lifting of 35lbs frequent bending, twisting, reaching and kneeling

Material Handler Qualifications:

Must have experience as a Material Handler role
Excellent attention to details
Reliability and able to work overtime when needed
Friendly and team player
Strong work ethic

Applicant may be subject to a background check
Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
