Purchasing Agent Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $42,000.00 to $58,000.00 /annually
  • First Shift
  • Create and issue purchase orders for approved vendors and materials based on inventory levels, reorder points, and production requirements.
  • Confirm all purchase order details with vendors, including part numbers, quantities, pricing, and lead times.
  • Maintain accurate and current purchasing data in manual systems or PO trackers.
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up on delivery confirmations, late shipments, or partial deliveries.
  • Log vendor communications and escalate unresolved issues or supply risks to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Coordinate with Receiving to ensure material deliveries are accurate and complete; flag and resolve discrepancies or damage.
  • Maintain documentation for procured materials, including COAs, SDSs, packing slips, and specifications.
  • Assist with supplier onboarding and qualification documentation as needed.
  • Support cross-functional communication by updating stakeholders on material delays, substitutions, or urgent issues.
  • Participate in procurement or planning meetings as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting procurement-related metrics (e.g., stockouts, order status, vendor performance).
  • Submit basic RFQs and collect pricing or lead time updates when directed.
  • Support resolution of invoice mismatches, receiving issues, and supplier communication gaps.

Purchasing Agent Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, not required.
  • 1–3 years of purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in a manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet tools (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) a plus.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation and regulatory compliance is a plus.
