Tooling Technician Details:
Direct Hire position- $
27.00 to $ 32.00 / hour Second Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 03:00pm to11:00pm )
- Responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
- Supports production through precision repairs, preventative maintenance, and tool modifications to ensure equipment runs efficiently and safely.
- Repair, maintain, and assemble all types of dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
- Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, cooling diagrams, and work instructions
- Clean, polish, and inspect die cavities and surfaces
- Replace or repair ejector and punch pins; check and repair water lines and fittings
- Weld (MIG, TIG, Stick) components as needed
- Prepare dies and cavities for shipment or external vendor repair
- Work safely on hot molds (300–600°F) with proper PPE
- Maintain good documentation of repairs and follow quality standards
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic and low-voltage electrical circuits
- Collaborate with maintenance, set-up, and production personnel as needed
- Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Other duties as assigned
Tooling Technician Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Tool & Die or similar trade (preferred)
- Technical training in blueprint reading, shop math, and machine operation (preferred)
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and print interpretation
- Ability to work from verbal, written, or visual instructions
- Familiar with hand tools, bench tools, grinders, saws, tube benders, etc.
- Basic welding and machining knowledge
- Ability to read tape measure to 1/32" and document results
- Familiarity with gauges, layouts, and dimensional troubleshooting
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience (certifications preferred)
- Basic computer skills (data entry, repair logs)
