Procurement Buyer Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $65,000.00 to $70,000.00 /annually
  • First Shift
  • Responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, packaging components, and other goods required for production in a dynamic contract manufacturing environment.
  • Manage day-to-day material needs but also works in a strong support role for procurement.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Production, Quality, New Product Development, and Accounting to ensure a smooth & compliant supply chain.
  • Maintain inventory through the ERP system: monitor stock levels, resolve discrepancies, and process receiving transactions.
  • Support cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Provide regular updates to management on cost fluctuations, delivery trends, and potential risks to material availability.
  • Relieve inventory after production according to Batch production record in ERP system.
  • Reconcile supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in pricing, quantity, or delivery.
  • Arrange shipping and coordinate with production schedules.
  • Monitor and expedite orders based on production changes, customer demand shifts, or inventory needs.
  • Build and maintain records of blanket purchase orders and vendor agreements in Excel and ERP.
  • Issue purchase orders, track confirmations, and follow up regularly to ensure on-time & on-budget deliveries.
  • Initiate and track vendor and freight claims related to damage, shortages, or late delivery.
  • Work closely with New Product Development, Sales, Production, Quality, and Account Management teams to align procurement efforts with operational goals.

Procurement Buyer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, the equivalent of hands-on experience will be considered.
  • Fundamental knowledge or experience working with herbal ingredients is helpful.
  • MS Office proficiency – intermediate/advanced Excel capabilities required.
  • Strong verbal and documented communication skills are a must.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and data documentation.
  • Flexibility in work; ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change, with the ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects at one time.
  • Follow QA/QC compliance procedures and protocol.
  • Knowledge of procurement for regulated industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, or nutraceuticals preferred but not required.
