Metal Vertical Band Saw Operator Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
17.00 to $ 18.00 / hour Full Time work availableFirst Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 08:00am to05:00pm )
- Operate vertical band saws to cut metal stock to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on material using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares. Set up saw machines, adjust blade tension, guides, and speeds for specific materials and thicknesses.
- Monitor machine operation during cutting to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including blade changes, cleaning, and lubrication.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Maintain clean and organized work area following company safety protocols.
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Metal Vertical Band Saw Operator Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience operating band saws or similar metal cutting machinery.
- Ability to read technical documents and blueprints. TAPE MEASURE
- Strong understanding of metal types and cutting properties.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA and shop safety regulations.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with CNC or programmable saws.
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
