Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

General Labor

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual for an entry-level General Labor position in Reading, MI. The role involves handling and working with 20lb propane cylinders as part of daily duties. No prior experience is required, but candidates must be able to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently

General Labor Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$15.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 02:30pm)

1st shift Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm $15/hr.
Unload 20-pound propane cylinders from delivery vehicles or storage areas.
Inspect cylinders for damage, leaks, or defects.
Scrape cylinders to remove any dirt, rust, or residue.
Hang cylinders securely for processing or storage.
Sleeve cylinders with protective coverings as required.
Palletize cylinders safely and efficiently for shipping or storage.

General Labor Qualifications:

Entry-Level
Attention to detail for thorough inspections.
Comfortable lifting 50lbs repetitively.
Able to work overtime and weekends during the busy months.
High school diploma and/or GED required
Steel toe boots/shoes are required.
Required to wear 100% cotton pants and long-sleeve shirt.
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment
