Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant Details:

  • Direct Hire position
  • $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 /annually
  • First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)
  • This is a professional position responsible for contributing to the profitability of the Company by providing accurate, timely and actionable financial and non-financial information as it relates to the production and costs of manufacturing.
  • Inventory
    • Assist with the annual physical and daily cycle count process. Work with BC Specialist to investigate cycle/physical count variances and resolve issues.
    • Prepare and update the standard costs as requested by Engineering.
    • Audit and control the Bills of Materials, routings, and overhead applications used in production. Validate and analyze the cost of goods sold monthly.
    • Maintain ledgers for the perpetual inventory; provide reconciliations and analysis as required.
    • Maintain an adequate reserve for obsolescence and dispose of obsolete inventory within the Delegation of Authority.
  • Accounting, Analysis, and Other Duties
    • Prepare month-end journal entries as they relate to the manufacturing and distribution.
    • Prepare PPV analysis and appropriate entries.
    • Prepare, journal, and analyze the valuation of commodities (lead) and maintain required reserves. Provide reports on material usage, labor productivity and efficiency, PPV, and production variance reports.
    • Prepares monthly and sales reports, including price, volume, and mix analysis.
    • Provide analysis on breakeven points by products, work centers, etc. as needed.
    • Assists with development of annual budget and forecasts.
    • Assist with process improvement initiatives to streamline reporting.

Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Advanced math, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Must be organized, self-starting and detail oriented.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced command of Excel; must be able to manage large data sets and work in complex workbooks
  • Able to work in a changing environment; must be able to promote suggestions to assist in the creation of an efficient workflow.
  • Must be able to present ideas and reports in a professional manner; be an integral part of the manufacturing and distribution information flow
