Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Staff Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing a high volume of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, experience working with ERP systems, and the professionalism and integrity required to manage critical financial data.

Staff Accountant Details:

Temp-to-Hire position
$25.27 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 03:30pm)

$25.27-$33.47 Depending on experience
Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Manage and track incoming funds and revenue streams
Handle financial data related to grants, where applicable

Staff Accountant Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role beyond basic bookkeeping
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (or equivalent coursework)
This position does not utilize Quickbooks, must have more advanced software experience
Preferably familiar with grants and their complexities
Must have experience working for high volume and high revenue generating corporate company

Applicant may be subject to a background check
Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
