Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Financial Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Financial Assistant I to join our team! In this role, you will support financial operations by processing and reviewing financial documents, maintaining records, and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks.

Company Profile

Our client is located in downtown Grand Rapids. They will be launching a new financial software so they need a new candidate to join their team to assist with the new software implementation. The position is expected to last 4 to 6 months but could possibly extend further if budget allows. Parking will be included with this assignment. This role is expected to start in the beginning of May.

Financial Assistant Details:

Temporary position
$22.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 04:30pm)

Process and verify financial documents.
Enter data into accounting systems.
Research and resolve transaction issues.
Compile reports and maintain records
Assist staff, customers, and vendors with financial inquiries.

Financial Assistant Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of bookkeeping or related experience.
Strong organizational and math skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment
