Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Part Time Payroll Specialist Details:

Temporary position
$25.00 /hour
Part Time work available
First Shift (08:00am to 05:00pm)

10 hours a week
Roughly 3-month job possibly up through the end of the year
Utilizing Paycom Payroll process
Working closely with HR Director
Responsible for processing employee payroll accurately and on time
ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintains payroll records, handles wage garnishments and deductions, and assists with tax filings and reporting.

Part Time Payroll Specialist Qualifications:

Experience – 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with multi-state payroll.
Knowledge – Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, Paycom).
Skills – High attention to detail, strong math and analytical skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
