Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Temporary Human Resources Specialist Details:

Temporary position
$20.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 04:30pm)

Assist with posting job ads, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews
Support communication between candidates and hiring managers
Facilitate onboarding activities: paperwork, orientation, and system access
Conduct follow-up check-ins with new hires and collect feedback
Maintain accurate employee records and assist with HRIS updates
Provide administrative support for trainings, internal communications, and policy updates
Contribute to employee engagement and team-building initiatives

Temporary Human Resources Specialist Qualifications:

Previous HR experience, preferably in recruiting or generalist roles
Strong working knowledge of HR practices and employment procedures
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Google Workspace and HRIS platforms
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Adaptable and dependable in a fast-paced setting

Applicant may be subject to a background check
Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
